The print-inspired crowd favorite Palo Alto comes to Keynote '08 with a wholly revised architecture and expanded slide options. With eye-catching and appealing blocks of vivid color and type, it's Silicon Valley smart with Bay-Area style.
Visible Framework, Refined.
The regions of the print-inspired Palo Alto layouts are visibly divided, accented with tones of both printing and technology, such as registration marks and OCR feeder guides - all refined and easier to customize in the updated '08 Edition.
Palo Alto '08 is a supremely adaptable general-purpose theme, with a clean, business-casual aesthetic, equally at home with shareholder reports and abstract art. The core of the design, sharp contrasts of color and white space, with a blend of reversed and neutral type - is surrounded by a visible framework of structure and subtle visual accents. With a wide range of text and photo masters at your disposal, you've got tremendous flexibility built right in.
Want to take it even further? The entire framework for Palo Alto has been revised for the Keynote '08 architecture, so you can customize your layouts or switch to one of our suggested alternate color palettes - even bring your own to the table - and make the theme uniquely yours with unprecedented speed and ease compared to previous editions. Our style or your own: you'll look great either way, and can leave the power-tie at home.
What's New for '08.
The Palo Alto themes have been completely overhauled for the transition to Keynote '08, producing a new generation of themes that are even easier to use and customize than the previous releases. Now built entirely with native shape objects and image placeholders, you can change the stark white background to a color, gradient or photo with a simple change on the Appearance Inspector - even change the colored panels, strokes and accents on the master slides to better match your corporate palette, or create your own layout variations thanks to the ease of the new shape object approach. The Palo Alto Master Slide pool has also expanded even further - up to 65 Master Slides in the Pro/HD version - including more variations on your favorite layouts from the Palo Alto 2 release, and a range of new layout options designed to make the theme even more flexible in the new Keynote '08 architecture.
And we rounded this new generation of Palo Alto themes out by returning to the roots of the original release: Palo Alto '08 introduces new "Split" style photo placeholders on select slides - custom-shape media placeholders that selectively crop a placed image into multiple sections of the slide automatically, allowing for single-drop image spanning in the vein of the mask-based approach of the original Palo Alto release.
Crisp, Clean & Modern.
Palo Alto offers you a wide range of text and photo-oriented layout options, with unique photo accents and magazine-styled layouts that speak to the theme's print-inspired heritage. New "Split" placeholders selectively crop your photos onto multiple regions of the layout automatically.
Palo Alto '08 includes up to 65 Slide Masters (Pro/HD Version) - a mix of both photo-oriented layouts and additional specialized text layouts - including a range of "Split" slides featuring custom-shape media placeholders that selectively crop a placed image into multiple sections of the slide automatically. Using the tips in the included Supplemental file, you can easily transform any Master Slide into a host of custom layouts or styles that are more suited to your specific content. The layouts are clean and contemporary, with custom geometric bullets and highly discernable charts.
The Big Picture: Palo Alto '08 HD.
Palo Alto '08 HD, available exclusively in the new Palo Alto '08 Pro Edition, expands the style into HD format with aspect-optimized widescreen versions of the Palo Alto '08 design, so you can take advantage of the clean simplicity of the new iMac, a MacPro-driven 20, 23 or 30" Cinema Display, or a next-generation HD projection system as target presentation platforms without the "dead space" associated with running traditional 4:3 presentations on an HD display. Even run full screen on your new MacBook Pro to take full advantage of every inch of the remarkable display. Your presentation will look like it was custom-tailored for your machine.
