Rediscover the flavors of Sonoma for Keynote '08 - a tremendously adaptable, print-inspired theme that invites you to create your own definition of variety.

Sonoma '08 blends classic print-inspired styling with a color-neutral framework, designed to propel imagery, color and type forward while maintaining a consistent, structured feel. The result is a theme that not only allows you to make your quick-change customizations via a palette change or placing a photo: the design actually encourages you to take that approach to another level, mixing shape-based solid color blocks or contrasting photographic palettes into a diverse array of color and texture. The included layouts - from single-panel, full-page designs all the way to six and seven-panel photo or "module" oriented layouts - are all approached with an eye to balance, detail and style that will make your material look great with very little effort. The accompanying chart palette is subtle and professional - blending contrasting primary colors and subdued earth tones in an eye-catching, easy-to-read solid-color palette that translates well from screen to print. You can even extend on the Sonoma design and create your own custom layouts by using the Blocking technique illustrated in the Supplemental Materials file or adding the customized Overlay Objects to your slides - making it even easier to add your own flavor to your Sonoma presentations. And since every master includes running footer space, it's easy for you to add company, presentation or copyright information without adding clutter to the design.

All New for '08.

The Sonoma themes have been completely overhauled in the transition to Keynote '08, producing a whole new generation of the Sonoma themes that are even easier to use and customize than the original release - all at a fraction of the filesizes of the original. Now built entirely with native shape objects and placeholders, you can change the soft grey background contrast to a tinted variation, gradient or photo with a simple change on the Appearance Inspector - even change the white "page" panels and color accents on the master slides to better match your corporate palette, or create your own layout variations thanks to the ease of the new shape object approach. Bullets and Interactive Button Objects have gone native as well - enabling you to customize every aspect of the theme without external image editors. The Sonoma Master Slide pool has also expanded even further - up to 57 Master Slides in the Pro/HD version - including more variations on your favorite layouts from the Sonoma 2 release, and a range of new layout options designed to make the theme even more flexible in the new Keynote '08.

The Slides

The Sonoma themes includes up to 53 master slides (Pro/HD) - a mix of photo-oriented and alternate text layouts, in both standard and "Caption Style" designs. The Sonoma layouts are designed to allow for maximum flexibility with an understated order imposed by the visible framework - allowing for highly-customized "panels" to take on a clean, highly-designed look and feel within the larger design. Every slide in Sonoma is a photo master - so you can incorporate imagery at every level of your presentation, or stick to accent color fills for a more text-oriented approach. Whether using the stock palette, your own custom or mixed palette, or full-scale abstract or narrative-driven photography as a base, your layouts take on the crisp, ordered appearance of highly-produced printwork with little effort.

The Big Picture: Sonoma '08 HD.

Sonoma '08 HD, available exclusively in the new Sonoma '08 Pro and Pro+Mobile Editions, expands the style into HD format with aspect-optimized 16:9 and 16:10 versions of the Sonoma '08 design, so you can take advantage of the clean simplicity of the new iMac, a MacPro-driven 20, 23 or 30" Cinema Display, or a next-generation HD projection system as target presentation platforms without the "dead space" associated with running traditional 4:3 presentations on an HD display. Even run full screen on your new MacBook Pro to take full advantage of every inch of the remarkable display. Your presentation will look like it was custom-tailored for your machine.

Sonoma '08 goes mobile with the Sonoma '08 EP Edition, included in the new Sonoma '08 Pro+Mobile Edition, built to take the Sonoma '08 style to the iPod Video in a format optimized for small-screen viewing. Our EP Edition Themes, short for Elevator Pitch, recreate their full-scale KeynotePro Theme namesakes with optimizations for increased readability and clarity on the iPod Video's screen, as well as Title Safe adjustments allowing you to use your iPod with the iPod AV Cable and a television or projector without losing any of your important details. Sonoma '08 EP Edition includes 32 Master Slides - a mix of photo-oriented and alternate text layouts, in both standard and "Caption Style" designs - designed to allow for maximum flexibility with an understated, highly-designed look and feel.

Supplemental Material

The Supplemental Materials file includes the Sonoma '08 chart palette, along with two styles of buttons for use in interactive presentations. Need more flexibility? Use the pre-formatted Running Text and Accent Text elements to add more of your own style to the layouts, or use the included Blocking element overlay to create your own Sonoma-themed custom layouts against one of the existing masters.

Overlay Objects, new to Sonoma '08, allow you to easily customize the area surrounding Sonoma's "page," via a simple fill change. A custom Keynote shape object, paired with a shadow overlay, allow you to change the gray padding area to a color, gradient or image fill of your choosing with Copy & Paste ease. Reduce the shadow opacity for a softer shadow, or drop it altogether for a more seamless look.
